Montanes Advances in Amersfoort

Fifth-seeded Spaniard Albert Montanes improved to 13-10 on clay this season after beating Kristof Vliegen of Belgium 6-4, 6-2 in 59 minutes Monday for a place in the Dutch Open Tennis second round.
